Case study
From a Nordic factory to Georgian shelves
We're the official Georgian distributor for Après, KUMA and KICK. This page is what that took, because it's the clearest picture of what we do.
The starting point
Après and KUMA are made in Sweden. KICK is made in Estonia by NANO, our manufacturing partner there. None of the three existed in Georgia: no importer, no registrations, no listings, and a category the regulator treats as age-restricted, with obligations of its own.
None of the brand owners had a Georgian entity. What the arrangement needed was a local company to carry the work in its own name: the registrations, the customs declarations, and the relationships with the retailers it supplies. That's what we became.
What it took
01
Registration and labelling
Each product registered under Georgian rules, with labelling that satisfies requirements written in Georgian. In this category the labelling obligations are stricter than for ordinary consumer goods.
02
Import and customs
Stock moves from the factories to Tbilisi and we clear it ourselves, without a broker. Doing our own clearance is why we can say how long each step takes and what holds a consignment up.
03
Compliance at retail
An age-restricted category comes with rules about who may buy and how it may be sold. We carry those obligations ourselves and pass the retail-level ones to every store we supply.
04
Distribution
Warehousing in Tbilisi and delivery to retailers across the country, not only in the capital.
05
Our own storefront
The full range also sells through our online store at threecrowns.ge. Selling what we distribute means we see demand directly instead of guessing at it.
Where it stands
The chain runs end to end: from factories in Sweden and Estonia, through customs in our own name, to retailers around Georgia and to consumers through our store. The brands stayed with their owners throughout. We distribute Après, KUMA and KICK; we don't own them, and we think that distinction matters.
What this means for your brand
This was the hard version of the problem: a regulated, age-restricted category where the paperwork bites at every step. A food or ordinary consumer product travels the same road with fewer locks on it. If Georgia is on your map, the chain described above already exists and is running.
